Context
Company decided to re-group product categories, so feature Birthday scheduling came back to original Hub – Messenger.
The brief
To make birthday scheduling feature accessible to larger audience, improve usability of the feature and keep premium conversions stable high.
Metric: increase messages sent
The concern
The feature had stable prominent number of users, as long as only premium users had access to it.

I tried to understand, what is the general process of scheduling applied to all potentially scheduled features.
Research and Ideation
Understanding AS IS problems
I decided to perform user test in order to understand what kind of usability problems have with the current system
Main problems:
- hard to find
- old school
Conception
Taking into account the feedback and our main aim, I created the concept.

Validation the concept
After alignment with all contributing teams and Tech, I validated the concept on the User test.
The test was successful
Main outcome:
- easy to find
- good reason to connect
Final solution
Final solution should drive messaging activity on the platform. So, by making accessible this feature for larger audience, the aim was succeed.
Meanwhile XING introduced new Design Language, so clean and fresh version of Birthday Scheduling feature was created and you can enjoy it on xing.com.
